So here is the post about yesterday's work:

Supposingly, we are suppose to set up 2 computers for a system training program that is on next week, so I thought we have to mount some computer parts from scratch, well, its okie for me, cause I do computer repairs in the past, but the PRC guy wont know anything de ba. But we dun need to, generally, when a project was accepted, new computers that are alreadi setup will be sent to us. Inside the computer, it only lack the software for the program and the database itself. So we did all the step by step to complete the software setup, which spent most of the morning in. So afternoon, we run a alreadi working database in the computers, the purpose is to test whether the computer settings are correct or there is some errors in it. Oh one thing to note, the computers are quite high end, hmm, maybe lack of some parts, but generally, it has 2Gb ram, at least 2.4Ghz speed. Wow, because of the database that we going to create, 2Gb is the amount needed to run the system smoothly. But I can tell you, even with 2Gb of memory, it takes like 15 min to generate the database, so you can imagine if you use a 1Gb ram or lower to generate the database, its going to take ages.

So connecting the PCs to the network, we start to do the generation but one of the computer keep having errors,(It means we adjust and generate it over and over again), so its like 1 hr wasted on waiting loh, but its better to have errors now, because then you can see how you handle problems ma. So the whole day was spent on setting up the computers.

Thats all!!

Side note, the PRC guy that works with me knows nothing at all. Hmm, surprise element one: he tried to use the power supply to the socket to plug into the laptop. (abit dumb) surprise element two: He dun know what is a switch and how it works (I dun know how he pass one of the module in ntu) surprise element three: he can just sleep if he is bored, evening its during working hrs, (its not break time)

So sometime i think, those that studied degree, wont necessary mean that he or she knows everything, its our 3rd year liao, and as a EEE student, networks are the basic to Electronics and telling me you dun know what is a switch, you tell a customer that and he dun believe you grad from ntu with a degree.

Haha!!!
